Nylon strings mean that it's easier on the fingers to play, the smaller size is good for young kids. The blue color is just cool (you wouldn't look at it and call it "metallic" though)! We got this for our sons, aged 2, 4, and 5. They all love it and can easily carry it around, reach the neck and frets and simultaneously strum. It's pretty durable, and the sound isn't bad for such an inexpensive instrument.Overall, this is a good little guitar to use to introduce kids to the instrument. It's nice enough that it is a "real" guitar, but inexpensive enough that you won't feel bad if the kid doesn't end up liking guitar, or it gets broken somehow. If you are an adult, you can still play this guitar, and its small size means you can carry it around with you easily. Could be good for travel.
